Let me start off by saying that this hosting company is not for most people. You don't want to use them for a normal blog or ...展開
startup site. If you operate a very large site or a corporate webpage that you want to ensure has excellent uptime, however, this company can help. They aren't the cheapest option out tthere, but they have servers all around the world so you can easily serve all your customers. The support is first class and they are there to help you with anything you need. If you need the best co-location services, you will want to look at Peer1.
1&1 have this absurd support scenario where you have an individual support agent who is your dedicated support person. Th...展開
is means that if your agent is busy you have to rely on hope that someone else will see that your agent hasn't responded for a while and will intervene. Of course, they act like they have zero context and approach your issue like it's the first 1&1 have heard of it.
They also do this thing where the only available support option is to call them up on the telephone. Ocassionally you can do live support chat but only if your individual agent is available. Of course, the one time out of possibly 50 I have got through the agent didn't respond for 10 minutes so my attention went elsewhere and when she eventually did respond I wasn't paying attention so she closed the issue as solved (without solving it).
That is the running theme.. I have had the same issue for weeks and I just go around and around in circles trying to solve it with different people. The issue stems from where I was told I could upgrade from one account to another and they would handle the transfer. They didn't and then wanted to charge me to do the upgrade. Fortunately I had saved the chat log but even then they have still not resolved the issue and I remain paying for both services.
AVOID AVOID AVOID. They are totally useless.
I have been using the on-demand server offering for a number of years. They just announced in June that the service will be d...展開
iscontinued by the end of September. No compensation, no assistance, no reason, poor communications, no method of converting. I have been forced to go to another vendor and rebuild the server from scratch at great expense (4 days effort). Will never consider this organization again.
The whole point of using a cloud service is that they take care of the infrastructure and ensure its availability. By cancelling the service on short notice and without reason, it is like the service has crashed. The only consolation is that I got 3 months notice. It was a good thing I was not in the middle of a major project.
Turns out the new vendor was cheaper.
